Set up OnSIP in Reachable
WorksOnSIP is a cloud phone system in the United States. This is how you add your OnSIP account to Reachable, so your phone rings, even with the app closed.
- You enter: Username, auth username, SIP password and domain.
- The password: the SIP Password from Phone Settings, not your website password.
- Voicemail: call *98.
What to enter
From version 1.1 OnSIP is in the app's list. Pick OnSIP and fill this in; the app fills in the other settings itself.
Usernamejohn.doeThe Username field from Phone Settings, for example john.doe. Always starts with a letter.
Auth usernameThe Auth Username field from Phone Settings. It differs from the normal username.
SIP password••••••••The SIP Password field from Phone Settings, not your website password.
Domainyourcompany.onsip.comThe Domain field from Phone Settings, for example yourcompany.onsip.com.
Where to find your details
- Log in to app.onsip.com as an administrator.
- Under the Administrators tab open the user and choose Phone Settings.
- Username, Auth Username, SIP Password and Domain are there.
Right now: with Other SIP provider
In version 1.0 OnSIP is not in the list yet. Choose Other SIP provider and fill this in. The fields marked (optional) are under Advanced.
| Field in the app | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Username | exactly as in your portal, for example john.doe |
| Password | your SIP password (see above) |
| Server or domain | the address from your portal, for example yourcompany.onsip.com |
| Transport | UDP |
| Port (optional) | leave empty |
| Outbound proxy (optional) | sip.onsip.com |
| Separate login name (optional) | your auth username from the portal |
| Voicemail number (optional) | *98 |
Good to know
- More devices. OnSIP names no maximum number of devices per account. If things go wrong while you also use the account elsewhere, give Reachable an account of its own. Reachable on two phones counts as one device: only our server signs in at OnSIP.
- OnSIP has two names: Username and Auth Username. Both are in Phone Settings and they differ. Enter the Auth Username under Separate login name.
- Several devices on one user all ring at the same time.
- Within the US dial 1 and the area code. Abroad you dial 011; for costly destinations OnSIP asks for a form first.
